UK Responsible Person

A UK-established regulatory operator for cosmetic products placed on the Great Britain market.

The Responsible Person is not a postal address service. It is the legal and operational role responsible for ensuring that the applicable cosmetic requirements are met.

What the role covers

  • Verification that a cosmetic safety assessment and CPSR are in place
  • Control and accessibility of the Product Information File
  • Pre-market SCPN notification
  • Verification of formula and label compliance
  • Cooperation with OPSS and local enforcement authorities
  • Management of corrective action, withdrawal or recall where required
  • Serious undesirable effect reporting and post-market oversight

Appointment conditions

Pretty Yeppuda UK Ltd accepts a mandate only after completing its own compliance review. Existing third-party CPSRs and PIFs may be used where they are complete, current, technically adequate and transferable for controlled use by the new Responsible Person.

What remains with the brand and manufacturer

The manufacturer and brand must supply accurate product information, maintain controlled manufacture, report changes and complaints, preserve batch traceability, and avoid making claims or product changes that have not been assessed.

Geographic scope: this service page concerns Great Britain: England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland follows a distinct cosmetics regime linked to EU rules.
